Our program is small, with five faculty, and somewhere between fifty or sixty majors. Our program also routinely brings in professionals of expertise
not covered in our curriculum for special production projects (including dialect coaches, stage combat coaches, audition experts/directors, and theatre historians).
We involve approximately 100 students per semester in production and coursework. We are proud of the close
relationship between students and faculty, an abundance of independent studies and
projects, and a fluid curriculum that requires a broad-based grasp of theatre from which individual students may make
better choices toward career goals.
Perhaps the single greatest advantage to studying theatre with us is the amount of individual attention and steady
momentum of individual challenge a small program can afford. Our students routinely take from two to four independent studies (for full credit) with
faculty: including research and practice in costume technique and portfolio, stage special effects, playwrighting, and solo
performance(performance art). Theatre students have many opportunities to work closely with their faculty. |
